Baltimore, MD, October 3, 2022 – Currently sitting third in the FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda program with one win and four podium results this season, TJ Speed driver Jason Alder is looking to add to his results resume this weekend. Taking on the VIRginia International Raceway (VIR), Alder will have three chances to score maximum points and close the gap to the lead duo.

“It has been a good year to date, but we need to keep pushing ourselves to get back on the top step,” explained Alder. “We have two event weekends, and six total races left this year. I want to earn as many points as I can and even try to win a few of them. The first goal is to improve my position in the championship standings but also, I want to help make sure that TJ Speed earns their second consecutive Team Championship.”

Moving from Legend Cars to the F4 United States Championship Powered by Honda last season and then to FR Americas this year, Alder has been a breath of fresh air and to both programs showing that changeover from oval racing to road courses is possible. Claiming race wins in both F4 and FR in 2021, being the only driver to do so in the history of the programs in North America, Alder entered the season as one of the favorites to take top honors this year.

Alder continued, “I’ve had several low point races this year, two in which I scored zero points and one where I was only able to earn four points. I find myself in a position of playing “catch-up” for this year’s title. The heat is on, and I am feeling the pressure this weekend. I plan to stay focused and give it my best and let’s see how much of the gap we can chip away for the championship.”

Set to hit the 3.27-mile, 17-turn track this coming Thursday for testing, official practice and qualifying will take place Friday. It all gets serious on Saturday and Sunday with three wheel-to-wheel races and three opportunities to stand atop the FR Americas podium.
