BALTIMORE, MD, March 3, 2022 — Winning races in both the F4 United States Championship and the FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda in 2021, Jason Alder is ready to get the 2022 race season started. Inking a deal to race with TJ Speed, the FR Americas Team and Driver Champions in 2021, Alder has also signed a sponsorship deal with Drive for Diabetes Awareness (DFDA) that will see them as the primary branding on the side of Alder’s #77 Ligier JSF3 throughout 2022.
DFDA is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit whose mission is to create public awareness for diabetes screening, particularly of young children, and to distribute information by pamphlets and similar communications at sporting events. DFDA seeks to inform the public about the symptoms of diabetes, the dangers of untreated diabetes and provides support for those dealing with a diagnosis. “Check Don’t Guess” It may not be the flu!
“I am excited to have the Drive for Diabetes Awareness logo on the side of my car as it is not just a sponsorship deal for me, but something that is close to my heart,” expressed Alder. “I have a family member that suffers from Type 1 Diabetes and know a lot of people who struggle to live with Diabetes every day. My team boss Tim Neff has a daughter living with diabetes as well. Living with Diabetes is not easy and hopefully our initiative will bring more awareness to the disease in and around the motorsports world.”
Alder will be one of two drivers in different forms of motorsports that will help promote the Drive for Diabetes Awareness mission. While Jason will see action in FR Americas, Lacy Kuehl will support the program in a US Legend car.
In 2019, driver Lacy Kuehl, NASCAR Drive for Diversity Youth Development Driver, met Jason Alder at Charlotte Motor Speedway during the Bojangles Summer Shootout Series. Kuehl was handing out her tri-fold color brochures for Drive for Diabetes Awareness in the garages and that’s how she met Alder. Lacy lives by this quote, “Luck happens when preparation meets opportunity.”
While the Drive for Diabetes Awareness logo will be seen on the track, Alder will be looking to do some work for the program off the track. With a handful of events already confirmed and several more in the works, Alder will also act as a Brand Ambassador for Drive for Diabetes Awareness, INC.
Alder added, “We will be working with the series, race teams and even competitors and spectators to provide them as much knowledge and information as possible. The DFDA slogan is ‘Education is Knowledge and Knowledge is the power to help save Lives’. Our efforts will help increase the knowledge of those around us to help them understand how serious undiagnosed Diabetes really is.”
With the 2022 FR Americas Powered by Honda set to kick off in April, look for more news from Jason Alder and the Drive for Diabetes Awareness program in the very near future.
